I've always loved this bouquet. Dahlias are sort of hard to make into bouquets because their flowers are one sided so it's hard to put them together without squishing them and popping their heads off. It seems like every bride loves peonies but very few here in Portland get married in the Spring- so I always substituted dahlias for peonies and they loved it, especially since these flowers are dirt cheap come summertime and fall.
posies--my florist loved dahlias, too, even if they are a little tricky. too bad no one here in the south gets married in the fall because of college football!
