Coming Soon

I have desperately wanted this address file since the day I found out it was no longer available. Lucky for me, russell + hazel said it should be available in early February. I'll be checking back on Friday.

Eames Everywhere

This dress

Gucci dress, Harper's Bazaar, January 2008

reminded me of this fabric

"small dots" by ray and charles eames, 1950

and of course I can't wait for these.

And this made me laugh out loud.

I Still Love You

Noooooooo! I can't believe you lost in straight sets in Djokovic! I was so looking forward to our weekend together in Melbourne; I've missed you so much since last summer. Guess I'll have to wait until Paris.

Everybody Was So Young

One of my favorite biographies is Everybody Was So Young by Amanda Vaill, the story of Sara and Gerald Murphy. Friends with Hemingway, Fitzgerald, and Picasso (just to name a few), they were the epitome of Jazz Age glamour. They entertained at their home on the French Riviera, Villa America, which from the book's description sounds quite wonderful:

Les Fleurs

Snagged this little card at Anthropologie today. I just liked the little illustrations.

For Sara Lyn

Since you survived the bachelorette weekend, I think you deserve to treat yourself to this necklace. Remarkably less expensive than the one we saw the other night, so Charlie will never know! They have lots more at viv and ingrid.

It Did Snow!

Just had to take some pictures to prove that it did snow in Atlanta on Saturday--just enough to make you want some hot chocolate by the fire. But not so much that you couldn't still go to the mall.

Swedish Soaps

Has anyone (I mean all 3 of you reading this) ever tried these Swedish Eggwhite Facial Soaps? They have always sounded like fun to me.

Let It Snow

Ken, Flip, and the rest of the Atlanta weathermen are predicting more snow for this weekend. Maybe tomorrow it will look like this lovely card, by objet de carte (found via paper crave). Doubt it, but you never know.

Forcing the Issue

I love forced branches, like these from Carolyne Roehm's Winter Notebook. Especially in those galvanized buckets.

Baker's Twine

Since I seem to be on a ribbon and wrapping post kick, I sure would love to have this little set of baker's twine, too.

Raffit Ribbons

I've always been partial to grosgrain ribbon and stripes. Needless to say, I could probably lose control here.

Pretty Papers

If someone gave me a present that looked this pretty, I think I'd have a really hard time opening it. And I'd really like some pillows made from that print, too.

Non-Mushy Valentines

Found! At laura crow's Etsy shop.

Your Name Here

Wouldn't mind having my own set of pencils sitting right next to me on my desk.

Nanadebary Green

Who wouldn't want this adorable bottle on their dresser?

Sail Away

A couple of years ago, I bought a Sea Bag (made from an old sail), that I love. Best beach bag ever. These bags at Old Navy sort of remind me of it--quite a bit cheaper, but pretty darn cute. (saw them on ali loves curtis).

Miracle Cream

I have cured my winter dry hands and ragged cuticles with this cream. I'm not kidding, this stuff really works. I got mine at Entebello; you can get it here, too.

Spring Is Just Around the Corner

"Um, yes, Hello? J. Crew? I'm going to need all these items for my dream trip to Mexico. Actually, I'll just take one each from your Spring collection. No, thank you."

Resolved

I rarely make New Year's resolutions, but this year I'm going to try three that I think I can handle:

1. Send birthday cards.

I totally dropped the ball on this last year. So I've already written all the birthdays in my new calendar, and I've got a fresh stack of cards ready to go. Except I've already missed Jen Kay's (Jan 2).

2. Try yoga.

Or meditation. Or deep breathing. Just something to free up some space in my anxious mind.

3. No more lip gloss.

Clearly, I have a problem. I am not allowed to buy another tube until at least 3/4 of these pictured are empty.

We'll Always Have Paris

The minute you leave Paris, you can't wait to get back. When I get back, my first stop will be the Tuileries for some pistachio ice cream (though, sadly, I probably won't be wearing those shoes). Second stop will be Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido, for the Serge Lutens you can't get over here. In the meantime, I'll be keeping track of everything else in this notebook.

Test 1, 2, 3

Just trying out my new scanner that my sweet husband gave me for Christmas. Not only can I scan pictures, I can print things out, too (for some unknown reason I gave my printer to my dad). No more transcribing Mapquest directions and Giada's recipes in '08!
