Goodbye, Summer
Last official weekend of summer, and I'm headed down to the beach for a little vacation. I guess I'll have to pack away my favorite summer color for my toes, even though it will be 80 degrees through October.

From what I hear, General Sherman spared Savannah on his fiery march to the sea, and instead presented it to President Lincoln as a Christmas gift. I guess the General was planning on doing a little more shopping once he got into town. Great things for your closet, your home, and your bookshelf.

Bas Bleu
My friend Heidi at work introduced me to the bookseller Bas Bleu. Their catalog always has great selections, and great reviews of the books. I'm always inspired when I can't decide what to read next. As for the chair picture, I think I'd rather be sitting there reading, instead of sitting here at work worrying about whether or not my house is clean enough for my mother-in-law's visit tonight!

The Paris Market, 36 West Broughton Street, really does have the feel of a French flea market, minus the jet lag. Books, furnishings, fragrances, candles, candy--you name it, they've got it. And they've got it all on their lovely website, too.

Crazylibellule and The Poppies
While shopping in Savannah last weekend (more on that later), I ran across these litttle French perfume sticks, scented with vanilla and other treats. While they were a little sweet for my taste, the packaging alone made me want each and every one. The website is en Francais, but they are available from b-glowing.

Journals Made Easy
I just love these inspirational journals at the mini mart, by marta designs. Her blog is great, too (I found them all via Oh Happy Day). Sorta takes the pressure off of figuring out what you want to write about your day.
I Did It All By Myself
A couple of years ago, while waiting at the finish line of the Boston Marathon for Trey, I found this little crewel embroidery kit at Paper Source. It was so fun and easy, even for a non-sewer like myself. Katherine Shaughnessy of Wool and Hoop designed it, and she has lots more on her site. Now if I could only find where I put the finished product....

Oh, Domino
An all-time favorite picture, the cover of the first Domino magazine, one of my all-time favorite magazines. So inspiring, that my husband covered our red dining room chairs in this David Hicks fabric. Saw the new issue at the bookstore on Friday, but as usual, I'm still waiting on mine.

Shelley Kyle Parfums
So I am really picky when it comes to perfumes. For me, it's either Cristalle (after the quiz in Seventeen I took at age 12 told me to wear it) or a couple by Jo Malone. But then I met Shelley Kyle. Didn't actually meet her, but of her four fragrances, McClendon and her namesake are just perfect.

Bud and Alley's
Bud & Alley's in Seaside, Florida is the best beach bar in the world. They have the best sweet potato fries ever, and somehow they matched the green paint to the Gulf.
