how to make a box

What a wonderful little idea I found on design*sponge. I had to post it, so I'd have the directions on how to make the little box, too. Perfect for all the little scraps of pretty paper I can't seem to part with.

record the day

I am so inspired by these collages (?) I found on the blog Record the Day. Makes me want to buy some index cards and a date stamp and go to town.

dinner party ideas (1)

When I can't sleep, I work on planning a little dinner party in my head (wonder where I got that--Mom?!??!). Should I go with the Mexican fiesta theme, I think I could swing these paper lanterns as decor. Via design*sponge.

I've never really been a fan of shadowboxes until I saw this image. From black*eiffel via this is glamorous.

kolo albums

The Kolo Cortina Lux album is the perfect way to save pictures from a trip. I love the stitching detail on the spine, and it looks so pretty on the shelf. The bottom picture is a page from one of mine, from our trip to Paris. I could not resist taking a picture of that kid eating the biggest baguette I have ever seen in my life.

Merry Merry

I could not find this wreath anywhere in the catalog, but I want it. Maybe J. Crew should start a holiday decor line. Or maybe I should just get crafty.

Good Things

While cleaning out some old emails, I found these ideas that I'd saved from Martha. While her projects are usually a little too involved for my tastes, I figured I could handle these two. Stamping books seems like a nice way to personalize your library, and this photo album sounds as easy as pie.

I Did It All By Myself

A couple of years ago, while waiting at the finish line of the Boston Marathon for Trey, I found this little crewel embroidery kit at Paper Source. It was so fun and easy, even for a non-sewer like myself. Katherine Shaughnessy of Wool and Hoop designed it, and she has lots more on her site. Now if I could only find where I put the finished product....
